Modern Tyres Hold Annual Conference in Kilkenny
At their annual conference held at the Lyrath Estate and Spa in Kilkenny at the start of January the company announced that following a busy year in 2015 for their 50th anniversary that 2016 would be even busier.
The company which celebrated its 50th anniversary in style last year by transforming their Head Office on the Tempo Road in Enniskillen decided to use the fabulous conference facilities at the Lyrath Estate to set out their plans for 2016.
The highlight of the event is the presentation of the Modern Cup to the best performing depot which was presented to Andrew Frizzell and Gail Kernoghan from the branch in Ballyclare who had a fantastic year. Runners up were the team from Boucher Road and in third place were the lads from Carrigtwohill.
The
family-run business started by Jimmy Byrne in 1965 with one tyre depot has
grown to become
Ireland’s largest independent tyre retailers with 41 branches Nationwide. They
were named ‘Northern Ireland Tyre Retailer of the Year 2016’, at the Irish Auto
Trade Awards in Dublin before Christmas and also got recognition by the London
stock Exchange as one of 1000 companies to inspire Britain.
Modern Tyres employs over 200 people in 41 depots Nationwide. Their most recent acquisition saw them take over Malahide Tyres in Dublin.
