Ballymoney depot manager Alistair McMaster gives us a tour of Modern Tyres northernmost depot.
Situated on the main road between Coleraine and Ballymena, Ballymoney is a small town but noted as being one of the oldest towns in Ireland. In fact many buildings of historic note have survived in the town centre with the oldest dating back to 1637. Coincidentally, Ballymoney also has the highest life expectancy of any area in Northern Ireland.
Ballymoney is also home to ‘King of the Road’ - Joey Dunlop, and still to this day his legend lives on.
To put into some type of scale, the achievements made by joey Dunlop where incredible: 5 times World Motorcycle Champion, 24 Ulster Grand Prix wins, 13 North West 200 wins, 26 Isle of Man TT wins, and was awarded an OBE for his humanitarian efforts and MBE for sporting contributions.
