Lights, Camera Action! at Modern Tyres Castlereagh Road
At the end of August, Modern Tyres Castlereagh Road became the unlikely setting for a film shoot by the producer of blockbuster success - The Full Monty.
In early August Modern Tyres depot manager Thomas Sloan received an email from a production company in England enquiring if it would be okay to use the depot as a filming location. This was passed onto Stephen Shaw, Group Sales and Marketing Manager who then gave the green light.
Emails passed to and fro until the dates, times and arrangements had been made and as we were asked - in respect of the production, we we remained tight lipped.
At the end of August, one Friday morning, the film crew descended on Modern Tyres Castlereagh Road. Depot manager Thomas Sloan recalled, there was a buzz, an air of excitement when all the crew started setting up the lights, sound equipment, cameras and video screens.
Incredibly, as filming scenes for the film were taking place throughout the day, the depot was fully operational. Thomas said, there hasn’t really been a day like it. It’s not often you get to see what actually goes on behind the scenes in making a movie, it was really interesting.
Inspired by true events ’Nowhere Special’ by Uberto Pasolini, starring James Norton is due to be released in 2020.
