Introducing Kumho’s Versatile All-Season SOLUS 4S HA32 Tyre
Kumho is no stranger to receiving Red Dot Design Awards for its innovative tyre products and has just been honoured with one for its newly-launched high-performance all-season Solus 4S HA32 pattern.
Organised by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen of Germany since 1955, the Red Dot Design Award pays tribute to winners in the three categories of product, brand and communication and, together with the International Forum Design (iF) – also from Germany – and the International Design Award (IDEA) of the United States, is recognised as one of the world’s top three design awards.
The Solus 4S HA32 has been specially designed to suit European road conditions and offers excellent braking (15 percent up on that of its predecessor) and driving stability all the year-round. Its new cutting-edge compound and V-shaped pattern maximise driving performance on both wet and dry roads, while its three-dimensional interlocking sipes ensure equally impressive handling in the rain, slush and snowy conditions.
The tyre’s sidewall features the internationally recognised all-season icon to remind customers of the product’s versatility. It also carries a distinctive hologram that changes appearance according to the angle of the prevailing light.
Commenting on Kumho’s receipt of the award, the head of its R&D division, Jung ll-Taik said: “Receiving this accolade immediately after the HA32’s launch is further recognition of our design excellence, and the combination of this honour and the inherent quality of the product will help position the pattern as a prime new product in the European marketplace.”
In recognition of the tyre’s victory, examples of the Solus 4S HA32 will greet visitors to the Red Dot Design Museums in both Germany and Singapore throughout the next 12 months.
